Oak Run Elementary School has been able to “eat what they sow” in results of the Healthy Shasta Garden Grant. The students and volunteers helped provide organic, fresh produce to their students all year long! In fact, the students weighed and documented over 250 lbs. of produce from their greenhouse and garden in the 2013-2014 school year! That doesn’t count the peas, broccoli,
All of the hard work is paying off!!!! Beautiful greens are being harvested from the greenhouse weekly and enjoyed by all.
Thank you to all the volunteers that helped get our greenhouse up and planted. What a great time to be a part of the school and community.
This year, Oak Run Elementary School student and staff planted a garden to offer a hands-on agricultural experience to the students while adding homegrown nutrition to the cafe menu! Thanks to Rosey Baugh for sharing this photo gallery with us!
